Fast Forward

Originally from the limbs of a buried collateral world, a combo not like the others, develops a sound in reaction to the ambient polishing, that seems to have captured our congeners. its name : Fast Forward

For the loves of extreme musics, this family name in reference to the high BPM that they profuse, is not unknown. For the others, this should not stay as it for long. Sprung in 1998 from the sum of Gjalp (GOTHIC singer and singer in the band General Dub) and from Didier Ambact (drummer for combos such as Requiem, Treponem Pal or Micropoint), they have been joined up in 2004 with Nitroben, guitarist for Stupéflip, Collapse, Marousse, General Dub.

Since its beginning, Fast Forward fuses the styles: HARDCORE, METAL and INDUS, developing an universe sound-guerilla-shaped, where all the kicks seem allowed. The 12inch and the ep’s follow themselves on the record labels Xunk + Moloko, Epileptik, Toolbox, PKG, Epiteth...

The revolution is under way with strong rhythm sections, incendiary guitars and wrenching vocals. Walls shudder at each of their passage. Ears take for their rank.

Fast Forward develops a music without concession which see colliding the fears and the anguishes of a world in decay, stepping up each time a bit more to chaos, without searching for that to deliver any message.

Inspired of welsh stories written in the Middle Ages (which made the tale of the Wales royalty blended with Celtic mythology) of which it derives its name, Mabinogion, the Fast Forward new opus is a submersion in a matrix drawing its energy in that passion deeply entombed in each and every one and which it had to learn to canalize, in a workaday governed by rules and codes to which it has to bend to.

A music which draws in the roots of our history of which some persons today try to change and live us down by means of rampant globalization, putting up the frameworks of a new egalitarian and totalitarian society, where the good taste would be the privilege of some elite.

For endorsing diversity and open-mindedness, texts alternate languages, passing from Dutch to Gaul making an indirection by English and French, primitive and warlike odes which call upon the black strengths of reason.

Climates are heavy and seeping on “Revenge”, vocals in being not without reminding The Young Gods. With “Sacrifice” the dance floors are invaded by a horde of moving rhythms with swirling guitars, the open Charley having fun making dancing the dead persons on an open-air battlefield. Some barbaric ravers satiated of amphetamine move on the surging beats of “Slaughter Retreat”, opening the perspective of a “Converge” versus electro hardcore. The instrumental song “Marudiat Es Atrebatia” see the break beat making an inroad in a cauldron in fusion.

The Fast Forward universe could create an uneasiness to some people, awake murders desires for others, but Mabinogion titles will not leave anyone unemotional, creating chain reactions where the antinomic strengths that govern men since their beginnings excite themselves in order to bringing to light that any self-respecting person is inhabited of

good and bad feelings, violent impulses and extreme

kindness, compassion and repulsion.

On Mabinogion, technology pairs with organic offering the postulate of how will be composed the future of mutant generations, dedicated to juggle on the chasms of an arbitrary world which will have to choose its destiny, without forgetting for that its origins and the ones of preceding generations, putting things in perspective between animality and faith.
