Zéro Degré

Nicolas Tochet started music on the bass among Metz post-rock band Melatonine, for their first demo in 2000, before the trio signed with We Are Unique Records for "Les Environnements Principaux" (2003). In parallel to this he patiently fiddle with his tracks of 0°.

After a first auto produced demo in 2002, only a couple of dozens copies, but quickly spotted by the independent webzines sphere, zero degré eventually releases end of 2004 a first EP « Les Ecrans » on mini label from Metz (which he co-founded) Le Kit Corporation. 25 minutes of music of 0° with remixes by Lunt, Dolibox, Sug[R]cane, King kong was a cat... Reviews grow in number (polystyrene, magic, infratunes...). A track appears on compilation FNAC auto productions 2005.
The «live» versions of the tracks sway between an electronica close to the record, and a tense post-rock carried by 3 additional musicians (suzanne vaxelaire : drums/ julien rueff & fabio di stefano : guitars) acompanying the machines and the voice of zero degré on stage, for concerts spanning from 2005 to 2007 leading the band to Nancy, Colmar, Paris, Strasbourg, Valenciennes, Luxembourg, Sarrebruck...

In 2006, the track « la lie de la société » present on anniversary compilation for the 5 years of label We Are Unique Records stands for many, especially for Jean Daniel Beauvallet from Inrockuptibles who qualifies as "jewel" « the swaying song of 0° ».
Following the release of third album of his band Melatonine, « Decembre est un samedi » in february 2007, gathering praise from the press and imposing the band as one of the best french representers of post-rock, Nicolas Tochet comes to working on the first long format album for his solo project 0°. With encouragements from his label We Are Unique Records, « Des étoiles plein les yeux » get finalized during the year of 2008.
